My Zire 72 could not power up this morning. It seems that the battery was drained out overnight. The only big change I made during the past several days was that I turned on autolock. After I disabled this feature, my handheld works fine again.
After googling on the issue, I found the following discussion on a forum:
http://palminfocenter.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=24734&highlight=zire+security
It seems that Palm realized the bug, but they don’t have any fix. The suggestions from Palm:
1. Do not use Autolock after a preset time or a preset delay…
2. If you really want this to be set. DO NOT turn off your handheld manually! Let auto power off kicks in and do the job…

It seems that Microsoft dev team has been well aware of the problem and they posted a new comment on ASP.NET forum today:
http://forums.asp.net/1290177/ShowThread.aspx
I’ll group item A and B into one because they are really both addressed by the same action on our part. I have filed a change on the article to include the “could not load file or assembly” error. I appreciate the comment on that because it’s something I should have done before.
Regarding a download of the fix, we don’t ever provide fixes at this stage for public download. I realize it would be a lot easier to just click a link and get it, but you can call to get it within just a few minutes and there’s obviously no charge for the call. Once we go through enough testing, it will be available for download, likely in a SP.
I hope the addition to the existing article (since the fix is the same right now) alleviates your concern over the issue’s visibility.
It seems that the current solution is to call them for a hotfix, which is not available for download.

Since I am going to start my study of Commerce in University of Toronto in the coming September, I decide to consolidate my knowledge of .NET Programming and Microsoft SQL Server by obtaining MCSE2003 and the new MCTS certificates. I am not really interested in certificates itself, but a systematic knowledge can help me memorize everything I know now, and maybe something new while reading the materials.
My main focus is on MCTS, and I am quite interested in obtaining 3 programming related MCTS and MCTS for SQL Server 2005. While I was doing my research on these exams, I found Microsoft is providing 9 free courses for SQL Server 2005. Each course will take 6 hours approximately, and after finishing 2 of these, I found these are really good courses to help people who already have SQL Server 2000 experience become familiar with SQL Server 2005.
I have to say Microsoft did a very good job with SQL Server 2005, and I found many new features really ease the jobs of database administrators and provide more features for programmers.
The course number is e-learning course 2936-2944. You can find these courses in the following link:
https://www.microsoftelearning.com/catalog/itproDev.aspx#sqlServer
As I am writing this post, these 9 courses are absolutely FREE! This is like $200 value!!
Thanks to these free courses, I think I will pass my 70-431 this month.
